Since my husband follows a gluten free diet I made a batch from a gluten free mix. I used a 1950 Sunbeam waffle iron ( belonged to my mother) that weighs a ton and has a ten ft cord....a sure bet it's an old appliance.
I oiled the grids before heating, poured in the batter. 1st waffle ok; did not re-oil, 2nd waffle more difficult to remove. Since he likes extra's to reheat I made another and it bonded with the waffle iron. It was removed in pieces and crumbs......

At least the sausage was good.
