Passing of Elvin Ervin...

Bro. Elvin Ervin, son of Bro. & Sis. Herbert Ervin, passed this week due to cancer.

Please remember the family in prayer...

in Jesus Name! Spread as it were the "Comforter" of Your Love over these

Barb, is this the same Elvin Ervin who pastors in southern Illinois? I can't imagine that there are two men with that name.

If so, his step-daughter is my former pastor's wife, also in southern Illinois. I haven't spoken to anyone from that area, but I'm checking the obits from their newspaper now.

HERRIN - The Rev. Elvin L. Ervin died with his family at his side at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Services will be at noon Saturday in Southern Illinois Worship Center in Herrin, with the Rev. Stan Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday in the church.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

Yes, it would be hard to imagine two with that name...

Elvin was an only child, but not spoiled, ya know?! I remember his mom fondly...such a nice lady.
