I just wished that those who disagree could resoectfully disagree and keep on doing what they've always done and teaching what they teach and accept the soverignty of the local churches.

I will say yes.

As an ex-upc saint lay member of 17 years; I am in hope of better days for the UPC.

I hope for a day were Love, grace and mercy for each other will flourish.

I hope for truth to be preached with out man made rules and chains of traditions.

I hope for UPC that does away with the "Obey or Hell" way of pastoring.

I, I, I, I, I, and yes............. "I".......hope for a better UPCI that is after Gods will and not Traditions of man or old fashioned views of Holiness.

I hope for a place were people will find Jesus, oneness understanding, Acts 2:38 etc, with out the cumbersome burdens of mans holiness standards.

I hope for a UPCI that operates in love and not judgment.

I hope for a UPCI that will fellowship one another's Churches with out fear of negative influence.

Coop, that is one thing i hope for too. you all might be surprised of how UPC churches disfellowship Other UPC churches, cut them off, put them off limits, wont hardly talk to each other in public, etc.
most of the churches that have been like this have just recently left or plan to in January so maybe things will indeed be different in this regard.

I just wished we could get to a place where we can respect each other, disagree but still fellowship only persecution and hard times will bring about this. we'll have to be humbled by God first.

Now COOP, on the other hand, are you saying there is NO love, grace or mercy in the UPC?? if not, that's how it came across

well, that's one of the things I'm not understanding.
NO one is being forced to NOT preach against TV or advertise

not only that, only a VERY small percentage will even be able to afford to advertise!! if I heard right it's like only 4%-5% ????

The TV issue is so miniscule it is not even a drop in the bucket to what needs to happen. Well ok it might be the first drop.

If they come out with a resolution that there is nothing wrong with a man having a beard and a woman trimming her hair it would go from a drop to a splash.

Then perhaps they could begin to move on toward the real foundational changes that are needed.

On this point, Thad, we totally agree.
