Do you still have canned goods from Y2K scare?

You may need them....

Countdown to Confusion

Daylight Saving Time Comes Early This Year, But Will Your Computer Know When to Switch?

Washington Post Staff Writers
Saturday, March 3, 2007; Page D01

Perhaps the worst that will happen in millions of offices on the second Monday in March is that caffeine-deprived workers will wonder why their automatic coffeemakers failed to perk on schedule. In less lucky workplaces, however, employees might miss meetings, overbook conference rooms or inaccurately record the time or date of important financial transactions.
For the first time in 20 years, daylight saving time will not start on the first Sunday in April. Instead, it will begin three weeks earlier, at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, the 11th.

Hmmm...

Those too lazy to realize the change in the change probably were too lazy to stockpile...

Not to say that those who didn't stockpile were lazy...

Ours expired we are slowly building back up. I am more concerned about the coming destruction of America by the Chinese than a y2k scenario.

I remember one preacher who told his people to get canned goods and guns!

General Conference was in the same city where he Pastored and I expected to hear of survival kits being sold there.

Costco here had these 10 gallon buckets from the Mormons that held flours and beans. I thought it strange that they were $70.00, but they must have sold the 2 pallets full.

There's a UPC church in Northern CA. that the Pastor had all the Men buy Guns for hunting so they could live off the land.

The wife wrote a cook book on how to kill and dress animals.

she even had a recipe on how to cook " possuum Stew "

I'm not kidding!

many of the members invested in camping gear and bought food for 2-3 years. It was a mess. some people left the church over it when it never came to pass

No!!! Duh!

We didn't stockpile a thing! We had scaremongers all around us buying supplies and even burying money in containers that supposedly were untraceable by the government...ROFL!!!! Our pastor [then] (NOT the one we have now) even got up in the pulpit and implied that those who didn't follow his example by gettin' ready for the world's demise were rebellious and stated (and I QUOTE), "...don't come knockin' on my door when your children are starving."

My husband tried to tell them it was a hoax. We were giggling on New Year's Eve 2000 when the ball dropped in Times Square and all the lights were still on.

I never bought so much as a pickle.

Although I am experiencing a tendency in my life now toward self sufficiency.
