Top 10 Issues Families Face

If you were to list the 10 ten issues that families are facing today, what would they be?

In what order of importance would they be?

1. A nation that does not honor God.
2. Destruction of traditional family structure/Divorce/homosexuality.
3. Communication breakdown/TV's/Video games/ internet
4. Finances/poverty of single parent family structure/materialistic society.
5. Lack of education/teaching [schools, homes, churches].
6. Lack of adequate healthcare/lack of faith for healing.
7. Disrespect for parents, & authority figures.
8. Lack of word preaching
9. Lack of relationship [God, families, friends, co-workers].
10. Absent Fathers in the home.

This is not necessarily the order because it is all a matter of which came first the chicken or the egg.

Blessings, Rhoni

Hi Rhoni!

Great list!!!

I think that an anti-Christian culture is one of the most destructive issues families face today.

Abraham Lincoln stated that what is taught in our schools will soon become our government.

The anti-Christian stance that schools are promoting is blurring the line as what defines a family.

The traditional family is nearly in the minority.

Look like a great list.

It's sad that we see so much of this.

I believe the most detrimental issue against families is the absent father.
I believe the most detrimental issue against Christian families is the powerless father who delegates his Priesthood to "the Church".
It takes a lot more than a village.......

I believe that one thing that is detrimental to families is men who want stand up and be a man and rule their house. When the man leave the spiritual matters to the woman instead of being a spiritual leader. I not talking about just being the boos so to speak. But leading in prayer, bible study, going to the house of God, backing up his wife in corecting the kids and teaching them to respect their mother.

1. Breakdown of basic nuclear family structure and/or abandonment of responsibilites (missing Mom/Dad, mostly Dad)
2. Negative peer-pressure to "keep up with the Jones" (materialism)
3. TV/Internet time replacing "real" family time (playing a board game together, having a picnic, etc)
4. Lack of discipline and/or placement of healthy parent-to-child "rule" boundaries
5. Overall anti-Christian societal views (living like the Devil is becoming "cool" and "acceptable")

maybe i'll add more later....

Busyness is a real issue.

From the moment the alarm clock goes off until we collaspe into bed at night....our day is filled with more tasks than we can accomplish.

We then resort to multi-tasking...which increases the stress level and lowers the quaility of work we actually do.

Many of us bring our work home with us...and try to get a few more things done before calling it a day.

Family time around the dinner table is often replaced by fast foods....as working mothers do not have time to prepare a full meal.

Saturday is catch up day...for those that do not have to report to their job.

Instead of a Sunday drive....it's nap time...as we are too exhausted to do anything else.

Monday means that we start all over again.

When trying to fill a particular ministry in the church....often I hear.....I just don't have the time.

With all the time saving devices to us, we are busier than ever.

May I add busyness to the list?
