Has TV/Video Ministry Ever Produced Anything Positive In Your Life?

My best friend made his first move to God watching a Jimmy Swaggart crusade several weeks before he was witnessed to and invited to church. He was high on pot and watching tv when he came a cross a JS crusade. As the camera scanned the crowd he saw people with hands raised and tears streaming down their cheeks. He said out loud, "Those people haven't a care in the world. I wish I could be like them."

Two weeks later the brother of his best friend who happened to be a new convert witnessed to him and invited him to church. He got the Holy Ghost at that service.

My sister was in the hospital with a body full of infection due to a burst appendix. The doctors said she could go either way. A local UPC church was televising its services on cable access and my mother and sisters were in the hospital room watching the choir sing "If God Be For Me". The HG moved into the room and my family began praying and speaking in tongues. My mother said from that moment my sister started doing better.

Any other testimonials?

I know a person who changed his life after watching Jimmy Swaggart. He eventually was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. But he always credits JS for getting him to the place of repentance.

I have been blessed greatly and inspired to greater consecration by Br Jakes a time or two.

I mentioned it on another thread, but it fits here as well. I had an email misdirected to me, the address was close to mine. I replied to let them know that I received it instead of the intended party. In the course of conversation, I found out they where looking for a church and wanted to be baptized. I directed then to a minister in Tennessee and then followed up with him. They were both baptized in Jesus Name.

So I guess I'm just tying to say that God can use electronic means as He sees fit!

PS.
I once cried while listening to Chuck Swindoll on the radio as the message was used by God to touch my heart!

The first night I went to a Pentecostal church with my friend and they told me about the Holy Ghost and tongues and all that I was still a little skeptical. That night I went home and did something I never have before....I tuned into a religious broadcast. It was Jimmy Swaggart and he was preaching about the Holy Ghost and tongues (this was long before his arrest)...and I began to cry and thank God. This was long before I heard the nasty tirades against Trinitarians and charismatics and liberals and all that stuff.

My friend gave me a Carmen tape...one of his original works at the time, and as I drove home listening to Holy Ghost Filled Pizza and the man saying "this thing is REAL" I was crying and tossing out all my Punk tapes and other stuff. Yes it blessed me. Too bad we can get that kind of exposure....

I've watched Benny Hinn a few times. Got some entertainment value from it.

Absolutely...I have listened to Charles Stanley preach for years. I love to listen to Joel Olsteen on Sunday morning and Joyce Meyer through the week.

The only one I hate to listen to is Bro. I. Baxter [I don't see it that way at all] and Steve Muncie is a professional money grubber

JMHO,

Rhoni
