Why did you wait on the TV issue to leave?
I was wondering why the ultra cons waited for the TV resolution to pull out?
For years there has been leaders who believe there is a second way to enter heaven as " friends of the bride". This is clearly false doctrine. Many in the org. believe one is saved at repentance yet the cons stayed in the org.
Is advertising on TV worse than FALSE DOCTRINE?

Hi Light,
I wanted to sort of bump this post since you seemed to have missed it:

Dude, dust off the Bible and open to John 3. I'm asking about John 3.
I already said that I agree with the Apostle's teaching on baptism - but again, my question to you was on John 3:5. Show me from John 3:5 where "BORN OF THE WATER" means "water baptism." Can you do that? I don't want to get into a nasty fight. I just want to hear your exposition of John 3:5 and the context.
You really can't do it can you? And yet you call people "pigs and swine" when they admit that they can't do the same thing that you cannot do- again it's John 3:5. Turn there and enlighten me.

On the matter of "doctrine" I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the questions you raised concerning John 3:5. And remember, we already agree that baptism is essential. We're just dealing with John 3:5. Thanks.

Naw, they ran the PCI "saved at repentance" folks out of the org. years ago. If there are "friends of the bride" believers in the org. they keep a very low profile!
I am guessing the libs consider res 4 the proverbial "straw" that broke the back.
The final "nudge" they needed to get their long sleeve white shirted bodies out the door. To remove themselves from an org. that has those evil video screens at meetings, music they don't like, and colored lights and fog machines at youth events t hat just aren't the "old paths".

I guess the only thing that mattered to ultra cons is Standards. Truth must be down toward the bottom on the list of reasons to leave the UPC.

You have a valid point.

On the topic of thinking "Why would you wait till the TV thing passed to leave?" if you think about it, it's not like it was a secret that a bunch of people wanted a TV resolution to pass, and that that has been the case for a while. So why would all those so deathly opposed to it sit around in an organization of men that they know is full of those who already hold these views that oppose theirs? If it's such a matter of principal, why didn't they all just go on and pull out a long time ago, because the people in the org didn't change just now, only the official rule as written did. Why keep yourself aligned with all these people you don't agree with?
