Why I Was Wrong
First off this thread is not for me
If you have said in past weeks that resolution #4 will not pass - this thread is for you.
You were wrong. The numbers are 52% to 48% pro res 4.
Why did you miss it?
What do you attribute this to??
Are you also wrong about the current direction of the UPC in other areas?
Some will likely leave over this vote. Does this strengthen the progressive movement within the church even more?
Ya got the mic.

I was right all along .... even when I told my DS when I resigned it was not a matter of if but when it passed this year.
Many progressive changes are on the horizon ... but slow moving. This is God's will.

I attribute it to preachers not going to Tampa to vote.

Could that have been the providence of God?
Does anyone think maybe God might have had a hand in this?
Can it be that what man might consider evil God can use for good?

One way to look at it is if God wanted the resolution to be defeated, he would have made sure it was defeated!
Or...maybe he didn't care which side was victorious!

Probably, and for the same reasons - I'm pessimistic by nature. This means I'm wrong a lot, but I'm seldom disappointed.

Strengthens it some. There's been a building backlash against the spirit behind the AS, IMHO. This may be all that's needed to quell the backlash and so the momentum will swing back to the "UC" side; or "progressives" may feel emboldened now.
Who knows? That's why they play the game (or insert favorite cliche here...).
