LifeFest '07 in Sandusky!!! Check it out!!

I am so proud of our Youth. Check out their MySpace page and the promo video they made for the major outdoor concert we are having next Friday!

Our Youth Pastor is so passionate and is doing a fantastic job with our Youth. Actually, he has been working with the Youth for almost a year and we just hired him full time a number of months ago.

He didn't even have the HG when we first asked him to lead the Youth. He sure has it now and is passionate for the "Fire" to fall in our midst.

For YEARS I have prayed and longed for a young man I could mentor and work with who had passion! He didn't have a clue how to do video when he started. I showed him a few things and now he's taken off. You should see some of the stuff they do with a camcorder!

God answers prayer!

MOW, for years I have longed for some to mentor me! I am passionate about people and the Lord and want someone to lead me correctly. I am glad to hear that you are taking the time out of your schedule to put wisdom into your youth leaders life. I was a youth pastor in a UPC church for a while and the pastor did not take time to mentor me or anyone but his son-in-law to take over the church. The young man you are working with is a lucky guy to have someone that accually cares about him growing up in the ministry and not making him a glorified babysitter.

I think that this is a problem with alot of the young ministers in the oneness movement. The elders are not willing to take the extra time to imput into them. Whether it is the age difference or just pure laziness, the point is that this is not being done enough! Kudos to you!

Thanks, Bro!

Mentoring really is about ONE thing.......spending time with someone. I take this young man with me when I go to the hospital. I go to Youth services and support him and hang out with them once in a while. I play paint ball with them. I go to concerts with him and have a blast with them. I am not trying to be like them. I am just being me....crazy old me!!!

But I want him to catch the "craziness/passion" in me and let it be multiplied in his life and heart. Mentoring is NOT teaching in a classroom setting or just giving someone a list of things to do. It is them seeing how you respond in situations..work and play and with people etc. THAT is true mentoring.

You got it right. My former pastor when I was his youth pastor he would tell me to get with his son-in-law and he would mentor me. The son-in-law was the one I answered to and I had seen him operate as a youth pastor and then the Assistant Pastor and was not a fan. Not to mention the son-in-law is 2 yrs older than me. The only time we would spend time together is on a golf course. But the Sr. Pastor would spend more time on his golf game and his politics to take time to spend anytime with the younger ministers. Good to know that there are accually ministers that care enough to get into the lives of the younger leaders. The church as a whole need this.

Fantastic! I'm also looking forward to being able to monopolize just a few minutes of your time that day getting to say HI and maybe snap a few pictures, etc. We'd love to have you join us for lunch if you'd like. Maybe your beautiful wife as well? We don't get to hear from her on here, but I'd still enjoy meeting her

You let me know what your schedule allows. You are already doing me a huge favor, so I don't want to infringe too much.

I'd be happy to spend some time with you two. If Mrs. MOW and I have the time available, we'd love to have lunch as well. Not sure what she is doing on that day. We'll just have to see what happens.
