Wisdom... when is it imparted to those who are called to preach?

This question has been on my mind but I have had a hard time figuring out how to ask it without all of the snide comments that I knew would come from the ultra-cons who criticize every question anyone ever asks....

Wisdom must be pursued. It is a process of learning.

First the blade, then the ear, and finally the full corn in the ear.

This is a good question, Sheltiedad. I think it could be a good discussion if folks will answer without the snarkiness.

wisdom is the fear of the lord, the opposite of unbelief and lack of faith, i think it comes with time and aging, in the lord and life, but you get a big dose of it by following the scriptures, it comes down from god, lol, dt

I voted for the last option, SD, but my tongue was firmly in my cheek.

I voted three times. Wisdom is something you have to seek and get. It comes through prayer-study-experience and yes the Lord. I do think at times He supernaturally may impart some bit or nugget of wisdom but most comes through years and sometimes it never comes. When I first started preaching at the ripe old age of 15 I knew the answer to every question now at 56 I barely know the question. The older I get the less I know.

I chose 3 & 5...

I did not choose 4 because I don't think that prayer necessarily brings one wisdom.

It can bring wisdom... absolutely.

It does bring power... it brings many things.

I just don't think that much prayer is a given that there is much wisdom.
