However, that power of attorney was limited to the real estate closing and did not permit me to do anything other than acquire the property so that the title would be in his name. When it was over, I had no benefit from the transaction except my friend’s thanks.

If a wealthy man hires me and gives me a power of attorney to purchase real estate, and if I act within that authorization, I could purchase a shopping mall in his name. I would receive no benefit from that transaction, except for his gratitude and the salary he chooses to pay me. If I tried to buy a shopping center on my own, they’d laugh me out of the bank. But if I go in his name, they would do business with me.

If you appoint someone to act in your name, it means that they can act as your agent within the restrictions you impose. Jesus has empowered His followers to act in His name to do certain specified deeds: feed the hungry, clothe the naked, preach the gospel, and so on.

If you do something in Jesus’ name it means that you do it with the authority He gave you and not on your own authority, and that you act within the limits of your authorization, whatever those limits may be. You act as His agent, in His stead, to His credit and for His benefit. You have no benefit from your deeds except His thanks and whatever reward He chooses to give you.

Now of course none of this applies to baptism using the name of Jesus. That is speaking of a mystical power that is released upon the sinner when we speak "the name" as we baptize them that takes way all of their sin. We get this from a one-time commandment God gave to Aaron and his Sons that had nothing to do with the remission of sins.

Hmmm is that your belief? So it's by magic and mysticism? When are you going to give up this played out argument? No one wants to argue. So you can come with your Pro Trinitarianism, and then switch over to Pro Oneness. Playing both sides, and then claiming that your Oneness. I'm just going to leave this here for the record though.

You've argued with everyone here and no one wants to drink the kool-aid with you bro. Take a hike. I'm not going associate with people who blatantly lie and intentionally misrepresent my beliefs. What I shared above in the original post of this thread is so simple a fence post can grasp it. There is enough there to shout about for a million years without twisting every obscure scripture you can find to fit your mystic beliefs. You have not ceased lying by accusing me "being Pro Trinitarianism, and then switch over to Pro Oneness. Playing both sides, and then claiming that your Oneness", along with other lies and distortions concerning my beliefs. Those who know me on here know I've contributed much to this board in the way of defense of the Oneness of God and the Acts 2:38 message, as I understand it, and for many years. Feel free to check the history of my posts over the years. You've lived in a bubble and do not understand there are varied schools of thought in our movement.

Thus, you can either kindly stop the cyber-stalking here or we can take this to the administration. What shall it be?
