The real meaning of Allahu akbar

snippets
“Allahu akbar” is an Arabic phrase that has become significant in this post-9/11 era, yet in the aftermath of the attack Tuesday in which eight people were killed and a dozen injured, official after official and news outlet after news outlet mistranslated it, insisting it means “God is great.”
An accurate translation – and even Google Translate affirms it – is “Allah is the greatest” or, literally, “Allah is greater,” as in the god Allah is greater than all other gods.

Re: The real meaning of Allahu akbar
Most mainstream Muslims would generally agree they worship the same God that Christians — or Jews — worship. Zeki Saritoprak, a professor of Islamic studies at John Carroll University in Cleveland, points out that in the Quran there's the Biblical story of Jacob asking his sons whom they'll worship after his death.
"Jacob's sons replied, 'We will worship the God of your fathers' — Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac. He is the God," Saritoprak says. "So this God that Jacob worshipped, this God that Abraham, Isaac worshipped, is the same God that Muslims worship today."
Christians [the majority of so called Christians], however, believe in a triune God: God the father, God the son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. And many evangelicals will say that means Muslims and Jews do not worship the same god as Christians

Respectfully, I would disagree.
I would say that non-practicing Christians and Muslims might say this.
However, those who adhere to their faith would not.
You could argue to some extent that Jews and Muslims worship the same God.
But any inclusion of Jesus leads to issues for both Jews and Muslims.

Re: The real meaning of Allahu akbar
Many Muslims believe that they worship the same God as the Christians and the Jews. However, they believe that the Jews were rebellious and followed ungodly traditions and that Christians added divine persons to God. In the Quran it mentions "people of the book", who are Christians that only worship one God and do not say that God is three.
But the truth is... Muslims do not worship the same God as Christians and Jews. In fact, Allah was originally a lesser moon god in the pagan religion of the ancient Arabs. Allah is more akin to Baal than Yehweh. When Muhammed seized the Kaaba he declared Allah supreme deity and executed the pagan worshippers who didn't submit. However, Muhammed actually kept the half-moon symbol of Allah.
Interesting note: In pre-Islamic Arabia, Allah, Baal, Molech, Hubal and several other "moon gods" demanded human sacrifice, namely the youth. Allah was the tribal god of Muhammed's tribe before he declared Allah to be greater than all gods. Interestingly, as Muhammed recruited the young men to fight in jihad, the mothers asked what if a woman has three sons who die in service to Allah, Muhammed answered that they will shield her from hell-fire. When asked what if two, Muhammed answered that two would be sufficient to shield the mother from hell-fire. The notion of sacrificing the young to the cause of these moon gods goes back thousands of years. And this is why these young "martyrs" are so highly regarded in Islamic culture.

Re: The real meaning of Allahu akbar
I read an article the day after the attack, where they couldn't even bring themselves to mention "Allahu Akbar". Instead, they wrote that "he yelled 'God is great' in Aramaic".

The aforementioned article said that he was yelling it after getting out of the truck.

I heard the truck exploded and incinerated four blocks to ashes, but luckily they found his passport laying on the ground.
