I love that song. I have the original version of Charlie Peacock who wrote it. He jumps in in this version partway through. It is Romans 7:19.

Of the three DC Talk'ers, Kevin Max is the only one who didn't do anything after their split. Toby Mac has been headlining for years still; Michael Tait didn't do much for a while, but got a sweet gig as the lead singer for the Newsboys a couple years ago. But Kevin Max hasn't done as well. Had an affair, and got divorced. Tried coming back with a solo album and Christian movie, but really hasn't done much.

The first time I heard, "Free At Last" from their album before Jesus Freak, I was in Landover, MD at an Apostolic church that we often fellowshipped.

That song is one of my all-time favorites!

I have heard Kevin Max sing as a guest soloist with other groups and the only place his unique style seems to fit is with DC Talk specific ballads.
