Prayer For My Father
My father is 85, though you wouldn't know it, at least not until the past couple months. He's been very active in the ministry for his age.
He's had a stroke and a couple heart attacks in the past 17 years, so Dr's had a defibrillator implanted which also monitors his heart 24/7. Last week, the Dr's office called to request an appointment because his machine was showing atrial fibrillation. My parents were on their way to the airport to travel out of the state when they got the call. His appointment was last Friday and confirmed that he's having afib.
My father was diagnosed with diabetes about 5 or 6 years ago, so having afib is not a good thing.
The Dr wants him to take a blood thinner. While it won't do anything to stop the afib, their thought is to keep him from having a stroke or blood clot.
I've been feeling a deepening sense of sadness that my father may not be here much longer. With that is knowing my mother is 80 and has had her share of recent health issues. They have been married and ministering together for 60 years. I fear that if my father passes, my mother will soon follow.
I'm not ready for any of that. Just so very not ready.

Re: Prayer For My Father
Praying for you, and for your mother and father. When your parents reach the age where they get frail and in ill health, it is a very tough thing to go through.
