Monitor Questions.

Got a question for ya. WHy is it that the monitors on laptops are so dark compared to regular laptops? The reason I ask is because I set my pc monitor up to work as a second monitor for my laptop so I can work and still play at the same time, without having to click this tab or that tab. Anyway, now that I have set this up my laptop monitor is very dark compared to the one from my pc. I tried it this way, rather than buying an adapter for my pc and a new monitor for obvious financial reasons. But, I am not happy with how dark this screen is compared to the other one. I've looked for a way to adjust the screen on my laptop but there does not appear to be a way. This is just not going to work for me. I guess I am too picky, but I just don't like how dark this screen is.

I believe I have figured this out. It's because of how many watts the laptop is designed to use and put out. I noticed that as soon as I disconnected the other monitor that the screen got brighter on my laptop. I forgot that you have to be putting out enought wattage to do the things you want to do. It worked and everything, but not the way I wanted it too. Now I am hoping this pc puts out enough wattage to handle two monitors. Guess I will have to wait til I get some money to find out.

Did you try manually lightening the screen through the monitor buttons or even through the laptops video settings?

Brother, I searched for the laptop's control settings and couldn't find anything. There was a utility that came as part of the graphics card but it didn't offer a way to adjust things like brightness.

did you try to right click on the desktop and then go down to properties then to settings then to advanced?

Im not saying it's not the power thing, but perhaps even though that is happening you might be able to change the screen

Well, as soon as I disconnected the extra monitor the screen on the laptop got brighter. At first I thought maybe it was because I was running the crazy thing on the battery, but I wasn't. It was plugged in to the wall.
