Gail Kiplinger is a poster child for ignorance out of control.

God chooses to use the fallen to forward the kingdom, although that doesn't make much sense to us. Constantine prolly did more than anyone to advance Christianity, but we would consider his idea of it paganism.

Amen to that! I'm saddened by the number of Oneness that fall in behind her and uphold her false teachings. She uses illogical arguments and sensationalism. Anything to sell a book.

Re: David K. Bernard should not be on this list

Dan Segraves once offerred a condensed ( I forget the term they used) class at Urshan that focussed on textual criticism. No one signed up for the course, so it was canned.

Textual transmission and textual criticism of the NT is best left up to the professionally trained scholars whose peer reviewed journal articles pass muster.

Amateurs only muddy the waters.

i would say that Scripture advises exactly the opposite. Interpret Scripture for yourself, and ignore anyone purporting to know better than you.

There is a huge difference between interpreting a document and being able to determine that documents age, transmission, and relationship to other documents.

2 different skill sets.

good point, i reckon; to the extent any of that is necessary. Are you talking about for extra-canonical stuff?

The textual variations and transmission history skill set works for any ancient document.

Amen, Bernard should not be there.
