ATT: UPCI or fomer UPCI Ministers In Central IL
And all concerned parties who know the power of prayer...
My brother pastors in Virden, Illinois (Jim and Julie McGee). I refer to it as 'Mayberry'...one gas station, one drug store, no Mickey D's, a town square...small town.
Anyway, he and my sister in law have labored there for many years, and may know some of the posters here. Our family received some distressing news yesterday, and I am going to share what Julie posted on FB regarding this.
Whether you know them or not, your prayers are greatly appreciated. If the Lord took me through Stage Three, and I"M still here, I know He can do it again!!
Thank you!!
"I haven't been posting or commenting on fb for a while. I don't know exactly why, I just haven't felt like my usual self. I started having some health concerns about a month ago. I'm not one to run to the doctor for every little thing, so I dismissed some pain in my stomach, thinking it was probably due to stress. When I started having some other issues, I decided something wasn't right.
Long story short, after church on Wednesday, my daughter was startled when she noticed my eyes and skin were yellow. I called my doctor at 10pm. After having a CAT scan, we find out I have a tumor in my pancreas, as well as 2 others in my abdomen area.
Tuesday I will have 2 procedures done at Barnes. One will put a stent in the bile duct, that is being restricted from the tumor. The other will take a biopsy of the tumor.
This is a road I never thought I'd have to travel. As I laid awake last night, I feel a peace that God has this in his control. Whatever the outcome, I win.
My main concern is for my family. I know we are not alone. I've already received texts, calls, and messages. My family from St. Louis came up to be with us last night and to pray for me. My main concern is my family, and I have THE BEST! Please keep us in your prayers as we start on this journey."
