Almost Murdered... By Citizens?

ALMOST MURDERED... BY LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS?

I actually received several emails about this man's case and just mentally accepted the reality that when you have the death penalty, innocent people will die. Oklahoma citizens WANT the death penalty. There isn't anything I can really do about this anyway. Without really looking into the details, I figured the guy is probably guilty anyway. I just assumed and went on about my way, looking at "more important" emails.

Then I read this article.

http://news.yahoo.com/oklahoma-inmat...053822456.html

Then I dig into more details.

Then I wonder, if this guy was set up, really set up, how many other people have actually been MURDERED by the citizens of their state?

MURDERED based on faulty information.
MURDERED based on lies.

We care so much for little ones, but are our hearts too cold towards the bigger humans that actually populate this planet?

This man was LITERALLY HOURS away from being MURDERED. Don't you care?

I honestly didn't, but now I do and it is making me question the civility of even having a death penalty.

Most other "pro-life" people won't care about his case as much as they will care about a pulsating blob inside of a woman that may or may not even make it to term.

In fact, being "pro-life" is a good indication that you will be in favor of the death penalty, which is... ironic in a sad way.

Way to go citizens of Oklahoma!

A pulsating blob? No. God's majestic handiwork.

Quote:
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.
Quote:
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
Quote:
Your hands fashioned and made me, and now you have destroyed me altogether. Remember that you have made me like clay; and will you return me to the dust? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese? You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews. You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit.
Why do you hate the unborn so much?

I don't hate the unborn. I think we as Christians should care more about the born than we do currently.

The fact that most Christians are pro-life and pro-death penalty is ironic and sad. It shouldn't be this way.

God ordained the death penalty for certain cases. Granted, the modern justice system is broke, but that doesn't change the fact that capital punishment itself is biblical.

As for the unborn "blob" comment, you really are something special, aren't you? I suppose you are pro-abortion?

Disgusting.

Why use the phrase "pulsating blob?" That's not a term of endearment. That's typically the terminology pro-abortionists use.

It's not ironic for a Christian to be pro-life in protecting the innocent unborn child (as opposed to "pulsating blob"), while being pro-death penalty for those who have brutally murdered another human being.

Are you pro-choice or pro-abortion?

Re: Almost Murdered... By Citizens?

No. I am pro-life.

But the story I have referenced doesn't make you pause?

Think about it!

Oklahoma was just hours away from killing an innocent man and it wasn't the Christians that rallied, that brought attention to his plight, that stood in the gap for this bigger human being.

Don't you think there is something wrong with that?

It wasn't Christians who rang the alarm bells-- it was unsaved people who stopped the citizens of Oklahoma from murdering this man.

So yes, in light of the gravity of THIS situation, I will refer to the unborn child, the precious human life inside the womb of a mother as a pulsating blob-- not because I disregard the unborn child as un-human, but because I regard the MAN that Oklahoma almost killed as human as I am!

Christians who lean on the Bible to support the death penalty have to refer back to the Old Testament to do so. Funny how that works. We refer to the Old Testament to potentially kill an innocent man, but not for abstaining from eating bacon and clams, and wearing polyester.

We don't think even quote the scriptures about how God hates the bloodshed of the innocent, when discussing the bigger humans with issues.

But let a woman decide to abort a child with issues...

Hypocrisy.

Re: Almost Murdered... By Citizens?

No other comments from anyone else?

No other Christian really bothered by what happened in Oklahoma and by what almost happened?

Shameful.

I'm bothered by your pro-abortion stand and terminology.

I am not pro-abortion. In fact, I am now more PRO-LIFE than I have ever been!

Life begins at the heartbeat.

My terminology is meant to shock the senses. I don't back down from using it in the context of this thread.
