Michael Savage Broadcast from 9-11-01
This is the audio excerpt from the Savage radio show 9-11-01.
Where were you that day?
I was in shock, driving home from the union hall out of work due to the bad economy. Enron and rolling blackouts in northern Ca. As I drove listening to the radio I heard about all that was going on in NY. As soon as I got home I loaded up my small family in our van and drove all day. Thinking America might be under attack and wanting to be able to escape with my family alive. I held them close stopped only to eat, listening to the radio all day. Calling family and friends across the country.
My wife was praying that morning as she always does with our 3yr old and our newborn, after that she turned to her bible reading chart and lo it was....
Isaiah 30:35
And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
I'm not saying this meant anything or that she or I are spiritual, but it was a very eye opening experience. I also know that others have made more out of this verse. I'm not trying to do that.
Just remembering is all....

I was in my daughter's kindergarten class helping the teacher. When the call came in, I thought maybe some country had attacked us. At first, all the information we had was so sketchy. I took my daughter home, and had a an exhausting day with the radio on, listening to all the news as it came in. I shudder to remember that day.
And like you JA... I just kept hugging my family, so thankful for them. I don't want to forget that either.

I was talking to Elder Michael Brigmond and he told me that a plane hit the tower.

I was in band class. We had just gone into the conductor's office for a challenge and we heard it on the radio he had in his office.

I was on my to bloomington, Illinois airport to fly to Chicago then to raleigh. I was stuck in Illinois for four days.

Preaching a Revival in __________ Kansas, saw panic sweep through that church and city.
I went back to my trailer, turned the radio on and told my wife to grab a glass of ice tea. Let's watch the fireworks.

It was a very interesting time. I was highly disappointed in the president of whom I voted, said "lets all just go back to our normal life's." Every station I listened to, that was the message. "Ok folks the shows over, now get back on your cars and go home." It could have been a time of great in-gathering for the church, if Bush would have "Seize the moment."eld R.W. Cavaness. Maybe some places did have revival, I hope so. But in California, the people so far removed from NY, just said "that was a great movie, like bush said lets just get on with our lives as usual." And 911 just became a little splash from a pebble falling into a great lake of life, instead of a life-changing country changing event.
