Anybody doing evangelism.
I asked something similar in Deep Waters but thought I'd go for a larger possible audience.
Who all here is doing regular evangelistic efforts? Door knocking, street ministry, mailouts, passing out tracts, challenging local baal priests to a fiery showdown, whatever it may be?
Could you share your methods, results, advice, etc?

Re: Anybody doing evangelism.
What works for me and what I advocate is teaching SFT home bible studies. It has a high retention rate and is very effective as an evangelism tool.
A person only needs to teach 1 bible study per week, with the potential of winning 5 families per year(with 2 weeks off for vacation time).

That seems rather inefficient! 50 bible studies but only 5 new converts? I'm currently looking at a CoC group that claims for every 3-4 bible studies they get one baptism. And they get 1 bible study every 7 doors they knock on (assuming an average of having 3-4 people answer the door for those seven attempts). Thus using their approach you should get about 15-20 baptisms per year if you are doing one bible study per week...
They also claim a retention rate around 80-90% due to their discipleship process.

Re: Anybody doing evangelism.
Most of my churches "evangelism" is one on one by church folks to family, friends, and co-workers. we also have a BAR ministry that on weekends late at night sets up in front of some bars / nightclubs offering hot coffee and hot dogs to sober people up and show some love and an ear if folks want to talk. Also we feed 100-150 homeless people a full hot breakfast in a park each Sunday morning and share witness to them.
There may be individual home bible studies going on. This morning I overheard a conversation between two men that was interesting. The guy talking looks to be in his 40's and may have been a homeless person I am not positive. He was telling the other man about being baptized a couple of weekends ago, the prayer guide he had been given, the small group he had been hooked up with, and that today they were going to assign him a mentor to help him develop in his walk with God. He seemed very excited that he had a solid path in front of him to help him grow in Christ.

So you are saying you are a slacker?
I bet you get a nice warm fuzzy feeling every time you drive by one of those bums sitting one their rear at an intersection wtih a "Will Work for food" sign that really means "I won't work for anything but please give me cash to spend on booze and drugs".

How do you get those bible studies started in the first place?
