"This sums up our current political environment." Yep, where some liberal digirag completely distorts the quotes and record in an effort to try and score a political point.
Let's look at what Sen Inhofe actually wrote, shall we:
Quote:
Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, an American soldier, was taken prisoner by the Taliban-aligned Haqqani network while deployed to Afghanistan in June 2009. Sen. Inhofe supported this amendment that raises awareness of SGT Bergdahl’s capture to continue to maximize efforts to return him and reminds the Senate of one of the basic pillars of the Army’s Warrior Ethos: ‘I will never leave a fallen comrade.’
Inhofe added, “The mission to bring our missing Soldiers home is one that will never end. It’s important that we make every effort to bring this captured Soldier home to his family.”

Here's how DK writes about Sen Inhofe:
Quote:
Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) — the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee — has also said that the U.S. “must make every effort to bring this captured soldier home to his family.” But appearing on Fox News just days after Bergdahl’s release, Inhofe criticized the administration for agreeing to free “people who have killed Americans, people who are the brain power of Taliban.”

DK accuses Republicans, including Inhofe, of executing "Looney Tunes-style moves" "as they scramble to condemn" the exchange.
I'm sorry, I didn't read anywhere of Sen. Inhofe being for exchanging 5 high level Taliban terrorists for this deserter. In fact, I don't read where this guy's desertion was made public until after the exchange.
So what's Inhofe guilty of, exactly? It's incredibly stupid of DK or anyone else to complain about Sen. Inhofe's reaction to these terrorists being traded for this deserter.
Now, what did good old McCain say (whom I have voted for only once, and that was really a vote against Obama, not for McCain)?
There are a few links included by DK. One is to a MediaMatters piece, where they claim McCain was for trading these 5 terrorists for the deserter. Yet, later on in the piece, they destroy their own claim by quoting McCain saying: "MCCAIN: I would support. Obviously I'd have to know the details, but I would support ways of bringing him home and if exchange was
one of them I think that would be something I think we should seriously consider."
One does not equal five.
The second link has McCain last January being completely against the deal, calling it “bizarre” and “highly questionable.”
Now, I'm not a McCain fan, but I see nothing "Looney Tune" about either his or Inhofe's statements before or after the exchange.
And for the other Republicans who deleted tweets offering congrats to the deserter, good for them! They, like the rest of us, thought it was a good thing which happened....until members of his own unit started coming out and calling this guy a deserter and traitor.
Of course you delete the tweets and cancel and celebrations for this traitor.
DK and MM continue to show their buffoonery and bias against all things Republican with their dumb articles.
