Salutations in the new Testament

Quote:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ... First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. For God is my witness whom I serve in the gospel of his Son that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers.

Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift: waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from the present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.

Grace be to you and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you.

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; ... For they themselves show us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which deliverd us from the wrath to come.
Until oneness believers today begin regularly speaking like the above when talking about God and Jesus Christ then something is biblically amiss with their beliefs about God and Jesus Christ.

Re: Salutations in the new Testament

True. We have to make our doctrine reflect that of scripture. We need to move more fully into teaching the humanity of Christ along with his deity.

This is my statement of faith as to Jesus:

1 Tim. 2:5

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

MTD, I love this very subject.

I rarely write letters to churches now a days and don't have the opportunity to greet people that way, nor does the bible say we are expected to.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

When's the last time you heard a oneness preacher say that God rose his son from the dead (other than in just quoting a scripture verbatim)?
When's the last time you heard a oneness preacher pray saying "God we give thanks to you and to our Lord Jesus Christ"?
When's the last time you heard a oneness preacher preach that God has called us into the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ?

I don't know if I've ever really heard any of those things from oneness preachers.

I think we have found one point we agree on Michael

i've heard it quite often said "God RAISED His Son from the dead" etc etc...yes and I say it too.

I don't listen to other people's prayers.

But I've heard a lot of language like that.

I never see you use it..

Then your area of oneness is much different than mine.
