Cassette to CD?

Can I transfer (burn) an audio casette to CD? Where would I go for this service?

And then get a program called Audacity to create a digital file of what you transfer. Add LAME to Audacity and you can then convert to either ogg or mp3. This is the program we use at church to record services. We don't even make tapes anymore.

Like he said above. However if you want higher quality get a better audio card with 1/4 jacks etc etc. Audacity is a free program good for basic stuff

Also a lot of CD burning software suites come with everything you need. You will have to "play" the entire tape though...it's not like just moving a file from one drive to another

We have had problems with hiss and pop being the tape heads dirty either at record, or playback.

Also make sure you have no imput and output open at the same time.

There are some filters in Audacity to reduce the white noise on the tape.

Or....you could get one of these! I found one on Ebay! This is what we use to record our services. A little pricey, but well worth it!
