1) Don't care about the government passing a gay marriage amendment. I'd rather they keep out of our lives as much as possible. Do you really want our government defining what they believe marriage to be? Do you really want the government that involved in personal lives? I don't. The founders didn't intend for it. It would open a pandora's box of trouble.
2) Victory in Iraq will never happen. Congress is tying things up. The media has also tied our hands because of biased reporting. It's best to clear out of there. Stop building bases for a permanent stay - that's why we're being called occupiers. We're building these stupid bases all over Iraq for permanent residence, along with the overly-large Embassy. Get out of Iraq. Let what happens just happens. If they want democracy and freedom, they can fight for it like we did. These people will never have peace, they'd rather blow each other up --- and that's fine with me. Get the troops out ASAP!
3) Compassionate Conservatism - where DID it go? I'm with you. Bush has created the biggest federal government in history. What happened to the Reagan conservatism? What happened to the idea that people, not government programs were the solution? Look at the spending Bush has allowed Congress to do. It's ridiculous. Yah, the spinmeisters can flip it around and say Bush has kept spending, as a percentage, lower than other administrations . . . but it's ridiculous. I blame members of Congress for the spending and I blame Bush for not having the guts Reagan had to stand up to Congress, veto these bloated bills and demand the spending stop.
4) Bush has been in bed with former El Presidente Vicente Fox too long. As President and previously as TX Governor. They keep meeting at Brokeback Ranch in Crawford and for some reason Bush never has figured out that the US doesn't need to cower to Mexico's demands. He has no guts or backbone to tell the Mexican government to take care of their own people and stop sending them across the border for us to be burdened with. Bush has created a climate of fear that if illegals don't work, the US economy will bottom out -- not going to happen. It's a lie. It's also a lie that illegals are doing the jobs Americans refuse to do. Wrong.
It angers me that 3 Border Agents have been recently prosecuted for doing their job. They're in jail or prison because they did what they were supposed to do. And in one case, some dirty drug dealing illegal is running around free because we gave him immunity to prosecute the law-abiding US Agent.
Congress passed legislation last year for a wall, but haven't funded it. This new amnesty deal also has a wall in it . . . but it's empty promises. They'll pass it, but then refuse to fund the construction.
Put up the wall - who cares what Mexico complains about. It's our national sovereignty and right to build it. Pull the National Guard from Iraq and other non-US territories and put them on the border where they belong. Arm them and give them the leniancy to return fire on Coyotes, drug dealers and the Mexican Army if fired upon.
If the White House, Congress and the US Capital was Phoenix or LA instead of wayyy out on the East Coast . . . this border would have been sealed shut long ago. But it's out of sight, out of mind for these politicians.
