I'm so tired of this Mike Murdock and his seed doctrine. Someone needs to sow their fist in his mouth! Send me a $1000.00 and The Lord will bless you! That's all he ever preaches! Money...Money...Money! I'll sow my foot in his (butt).

Now, tell us how you really feel...
For the record, I agree with you on the prosperity doctrine. Jesus didn't say we'd have prosperity in this world. Rather, He said, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
And, as Paul said, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." (1 Tim. 6:10)
There are very few doctrines I'll flat-out condemn as being unworthy of a person seeking to follow Jesus, but this is one of them.
What's sad is that the Bible does teach that God desires to prosper His people. They have just taken it way out of context and define property solely as having lots of money, possessions and health. They also encourage people to give with greed as the motive rather than the joy of giving being the motive.
These ministries always come to an end---and they end messy, hurting a lot of people along the way.

When a newspaper posed the question, "What's Wrong with the World?" G. K. Chesterton reputedly wrote a brief letter in response: "Dear Sirs: I am. Sincerely Yours, G. K. Chesterton." That is the attitude of someone who has grasped the message of Jesus.
Prospering in God's eyes is much, much more than simply dollars and cents.

THIS. You can prosper in faith but still have trials and tribulation. The problem with the prosperity doctrine is that it denies a Christian can experience trials and tribulation, and bases one's standing with God on one's acquisition of worldly goods.

Reason: had another thought.
I never hear the prosperity preachers tell us to sow into our churches a special offering. It is always sowing into their ministry because it is "good soil". So are our churches - good soil especially if they are winning souls and ministering to the needs of people.
Most of his preaching are tapes as I notice the color of his shirt and tie and I tell my husband, that is a re-run, he has on this particular piece of clothing. Sometimes I have seen him on 2 different channels raising money for a particular ministry. Thank God for a T.V. remote. There are about 5 of them and we call them "money grubbers". It brings a reproach on the gospel and turns the sinner world off.

"And on the 14th day God created the Logitech Harmony One universal remote." -God-like reverberation.
If you're tired of Mike Murdock, why do you continue to wach him?
I wondered that, myself.
