Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea (or sleep apnoea in British English; /æpˈniːə/) is a sleep disorder characterized by abnormal pauses in breathing or instances of abnormally low breathing during sleep. Each pause in breathing, called an apnea, can last from at least ten seconds to minutes, and may occur 5 to 30 times or more an hour...

Do any of you suffer from this complication?
If you do, do you use the CPAP machine?
After insurance, are they very expensive?
Does it help? Would you recommend anything else?

My son took a sleep test and was found to stop
breathing (in short seconds), over 250+ times during
the night!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Sleep Apnea

Yes I have it.

Yes I have a machine.

No, I don't use it as I should. The mask breaks me out and the pillows make my nose sore. So I use it some but not as I should.

Yes I have it. It was the cause of my AFIB. I wear my CPAP religiously and if not I suffer the next day. After insurance I paid about $200.00 for initial setup.

It has been a God send!

Take your fingers out of your nose and you should be just fine.

After the initial setup, it costs about $100.00 a quarter for masks, tubes and such but my insurance covers.
