Discussion board for use in classroom

I'll be teaching middle school Spanish next year to advanced/gifted students. I'd like to integrate a discussion board and/or blog into my instruction.

Any suggestions on:

Free message boards?

"Safe" blogs?

Tips for implementing this?

Is there a middle school in a Spanish-speaking country that has a discussion board or blog? Maybe an interactive relationship with such a school would help you accomplish what you're wanting to accomplish.

Strangely enough, I hadn't considered that. I'll look into it. I just came up with this idea today Thanks.
