Hey in the bible there were several instances of the Isrealites camping but one of the most serious consequences of anyone camping had to be for LOT.
He headed in the wrong direction.It was so bad that he lost some very precious things in his life(wife) and his children picked up some very off the wall ideas.
The bible speaks of pitching your tent in a few places.
Gen 13:12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched [his] tent toward Sodom.
'ahal - to pitch or remove a tent.
It is said in Isaiah about Babylon by God this:
Isa 13:19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
Isa 13:20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation:
neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
Isa 13:21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
