Please Pray - CoWorker's Relative Commits Suicide

I'm requesting your prayers for someone you don't know, but that is hurting this morning.

A couple of month's ago in a large team meeting, a coworker pulled me aside. Now she is Catholic, and knows what I believe about her doctrines, etc, but we have a good working relationship, and both respect one another. She pulled me aside and asked me to pray for her family. A family member had attempted suicide, after a divorce, losing custody of his family, and losing his job. Right in the hallway at work that day, we prayed together in Jesus Name over him, and I told her I'd keep on praying.

They were able to get him into counseling, and I didn't hear much more. From time to time I asked about him, kept on praying, and she said they were still concerned.

Just about 15 minutes ago she received that call. He succeeded in taking his life this morning. Saw his kids over the weekend one more time, called a number of folks to tell them he loved them.... and everyone thought these were signs he was doing better. Said he looked and sounded so happy. But this morning he took his life.

In a moment, folks lives can change forever. This morning children are trying to reason and deal with a parent that was so deep in their own pain and hurt they'd rather leave life than stay with them.

There's an ex wife who will still mourn and grieve over the loss of a spouse.

Family members and friends will wonder did they somehow fail him that he believed this was the only possible alternative for him.

Please help me pray for them, and if there is anyway I can help my coworker, minister to this family, or just reach out in love... that I'll be sensitive enough to see it and yielded enough to do it.

This is such a tragic loss... God help us to open our eyes and see the hurt that exists all around us and reach them with the Grace and Gospel of the Love of Christ.

So very sad when anyone thinks that
suicide is the only answer.
Praying for your friend and this man's
family.

Praying. There is things I could say here on the overall subject of suicide but it is not the place.

That is a terrible story. I will be praying for the family and that God will give you wisdom to minister to your co-worker.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Will definitely pray for this situation, and that the Lord will allow you to minister to this family in the midst of their sorrow.
