Is it as wrong for me to force my personal religious and moral opinions about same sex marriage and abortion upon all the other people in the United States as it is wrong for President Obama to force his personal religious and moral opinions about abortion and birth control upon the Roman Catholic Church?

Ideally, no one should force their beliefs on anyone.

Many people of good faith are on both sides of the fence on these issues for various reasons.

Shouldn't people that want birth control coverage from their insurance be offered insurance that covers it, especially seeing as we are pushing for healthcare coverage for all? I have no problem with whether an insurance company wants to not cover that. I have a problem with no other alternatives being provided for those that want that kind of coverage.

The health insurance business is one of the most odd businesses that exists. It costs less if you are working. In fact I think that may be the biggest problem with that business. If it was more like car insurance then I can shop around and find what I want. I can't do that with health insurance though. I either take what my employer provides or I go without. Why does it function so different?

I always found it ironic that insurance companies would rather pay for people to have babies, than pay for birth control. Back when I was having babies, that is. I don't know how they are now.

I used to think the same thing about cancer. Used to be women had to pay for their own mammograms and pap smears when it would be cheaper to check for early detection.



And Sam, I likewise believe that we should not force our beliefs on everybody else either. However, I don't want others to cram their beliefs down my throat and try to make me like it too.

I guess if I was in power and stopping killing of babies puts me in class of forcing my beliefs on others then so be it.

Ya, "Iron Scepter" sounds draconian to a kid, but these very Qs arise due to sin.
We end up with unanswerable dilemmas, and compromise ourselves into extinction.
A remnant remains.

I'm pretty sure the answer to those Insurance Qs is all "$," and anything that does not make sense to one is likely overlooking that there is profit to
be made doing it like it is done. The unemployed cost more to health insure because they are more likely to misuse it (I sold health ins in my 20s)

Those in power are forcing their beliefs on us and cramming it down our throats by mandating taxpayer funds to pay for it.
