Hidden sins

Have you ever noticed people that have hid their sins and sin is only brought to light because of an act of God that person either fully repents or their repentance is insincere and that sin comes back over and over to haunt them until they are destroyed...
I have been talking to some today about insincere repentance...people that repent because it is convenient...the right thing to do at the moment…
Those same people if they do not fully repent are destroyed because they fellowship with people in the same boat…I read today David’s repentance Psalm to a person in my office…
I have had that on my mind. It is so sad to see the devil trick people and make them believe all is well when they are really dying spiritually.

True many repent after they are exposed by someone. Many who sin over and over may have never really been saved. But when one does sin over and over it finally destroys them as you said:

6: He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7: Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8: And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Luke 13:6-9

Sis Alvear,

I do believe that people with the same 'weights' and 'sins' that they struggle with are drawn together for many reasons. They pick up on the language, the signals, the symptoms if you would.

It is my personal experience that I can be repentant, truly repentant about something and when I am weak or in a vulnerable position the devil brings the same trigger to put me into a place of temptation. There have been many times I have fallen back into the 'issue'/'sin' only to have to repent again.

There is a time that you have to get to the point that you are aware of the triggers, look for the pitfall, and find the escape route that God has promised. It you take the escape route time and again then it will truly become a thing of the past and you will not be tempted by or succomb to it any longer.

There are spirits attached to certain sins, especially sexual sins. This is why it is very difficult for those caught in homosexuality, pedophilia, beastiality, necromancy, and adultery and fornication to be free from it. One must live a submitted and disciplined life to fight these spiritual battles and be victorious.

For those who have never struggled with any sexual sin, this might not be something you can understand or even forgive others for without putting on your cloak of self-righteousness. For those that have struggled and won...they can empathize and be armour-bearers for those who struggle with the same demons.

Sincerely, Rhonda

Me:

Why assume that if one expects a born again believer to turn from sin and life consistently for Christ they are self righteous?

What about If any man be in Christ he is a new creature old things have passed away all things have become new?

Yes we should be merciful and help bear the infirmities of the weak. But those who are in sin should not despise the exhortation to "warn the unruly".
