I know some churches will cancel for Christmas morning and some will not change their sevices at all..... What's your opinion or preference for service Christmas morning?....... Is your local church having service on Christmas morning?

Re: Christmas morning

We are having one "family" service at 10 AM, rather than the usual 9 and 11. We have no idea what the attendance will be, but we just couldn't see canceling service on the day we're supposed to be acknowledging Jesus' birth. Hopefully this will give people time before to do Christmas gifts and still time to get home and finish Christmas dinner.

We'll see.........

Re: Christmas morning

Our church is having service an hour later than usual that morning.

I have no problem, though, with anyone who cancels service, or anyone who doesn't attend on that day. I think Christmas is primarily a family celebration, and I don't think canceling, or not attending, a church service means you're ignoring Jesus on "his day". Jesus doesn't just dwell inside the church building. It's not like we're going to visit him. He is wherever we are, including our family celebrations.

Re: Christmas morning

Are there any churches cancelling the Sunday service(s), but holding a special Christmas Eve one?

Re: Christmas morning

We normally have 2 Sunday AM services, but are doing one Sunday AM and one Saturday PM so people can choose which day they prefer.

Re: Christmas morning

We will have our Christmas Eve service on Saturday at 7:00. Then Sunday morning we are canceling Sunday School, but keeping morning worship at the same time as normal. Then we're canceling Sunday evening.

Re: Christmas morning

We are adding a Christmas Eve service for those that can't make it on Christmas morning and on Christmas day we are having 1 instead of 3 morning services. They will both be a candle light service.

Re: Christmas morning

My church is having service. My family will not be there because IMO the family time and seeing my boy light up Christmas morning is more important than rushing to church to hear a sermon I have likely already heard a hundred times.
