Jesus gave to commands Love God and Love your neighbor.
The jews asked who is our neighbors. Jesus gave the parable of the Good samaritan.
you must understand that the jews truely hated the smaratians, they were half breed of jews and gentiles, considered to be a abomination to most jews.
I remember reading some where that when jews prayed to God for blessing they would pray for the destruction of the samaritans in the same sentence.
there was so much hatred between them and were considered to be enemies.
Look at what the apostles wanted to do to the samaritans
luke ch 9
51 As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. 52 And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him; 53 but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. 54 When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them[b]?” 55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them. 56 Then he and his disciples went to another village.
that is why you are to love your enemies as well, and this doesnt just include enemies it is including sinners as well.
Jesus also said i come for the sick, he came for sinners.
God died for sinners, that is all we are is redeemed sinners, his blood shed for them as well
john 3:16, should we not love the world like God does that they should come to repentance like we have.
romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
are we not supposed to love as Christ Loves?
we are suppose to love the sinner, but hate the sin....
