Alexander and the Little Horn

Daniel’s visions give an account of Alexander the Great’s conquering of the Asian Middle East and then the dividing of his kingdom there into four kingdoms [Daniel 8:3-5; 11:1-35]

Two of the these kingdoms are then the focus of chapter 11, one north and one south of Israel; Syrio /Babylonia [Antiochus IV was this kingdom’s last king in the scope of the vision; 11:21-35] and Egypt

Alexander is identified as a “great” horn in the vision because of his vast holdings of a conquered Middle East which incorporated the holdings of the previous rulers of the region [neo-Babylon, Media, and Persia]

The vision then jumps to the time of the end and a “little horn” emerges out of the same Middle Eastern region of the northern division of the “great” horn’s kingdom [Syrio/Babylonia] [Daniel 8:3-5]

This future human northern king is a “little” horn and his kingdom will be a small one at first located in the Upper Tigris/Euphrates River basin, the core region of the first beast of Revelation’s ancient kingdoms in the Middle East [Revelation 9:11; 11:7; 13:1-4; 17:8-14]

The first beast of Revelation ruled over Alexander, the “great horn”, and he will also rule over the “little” horn at the end of this present age when he is released from the abyss [this beast’s symbolic trappings are of 3 of his significant ancient kingdoms in the Middle East] [Daniel 7:2-6; Revelation 13:1-4]

So the “little horn” will at first not be a major political figure of the stature of Alexander the Great as some think [Daniel 8:9-12; 8:23-25] [the transgressors noted are populations of the Middle East]

This “little” horn will arise among 10 other regional Middle Eastern horns [kings] and then proceed to expand his power and influence forming the 4th Middle Eastern kingdom as described in Daniel’s vision [Daniel 7:7-25]

The image recorded in Daniel 2 does not include any kingdoms outside of the Middle East .... it is a picture of successive Middle Eastern kingdoms including neo-Babylon, Media, Persia, Alexander’s, and Syrio/Babylonia [5 fallen]

And the future “little” horn’s smaller kingdom [the 6th], and his next expanded divided kingdom [7th] including the 10 other additional kings

"he is doing a exergesis on the book of revelations and daniel"

Correct ..... more to come

The significance .... the 100% accuracy of the Lord's prophetic Word, past, and future as it relates to His coming intervention upon the earth
