M is for the many things she taught me.

O means only that she's growing old.

T is for the tears she'd shed to save me.

H is for her heart as pure as gold.

E is for her eyes that shine so brightly.

R means right and right she'll always be.

Put them all together - they spell MOTHER.

A word that means the whole, wide world to me!!!

Sis. Becky123abc,

Thanks for posting this song. I think of my own dear Mother,

Her picture is in my post about her on the "What Mother's Day

Means To Me" thread. She and Daddy raised eleven children,

seven sons and four daughters. We are all living today, ages 49-68.

I am the eldest daughter.

If my Mother was alive and singing this song, she would say, "For the

ninety-nine months I carried you, no charge. Eleven times nine equals

99 months. Never a complaint, that was MOMMA. She was a treasure

to her family. Her memory is so precious to all of us.

Blessings,

Falla39

Sis. Becky123abc,

Thank you for your sweet words. Daughters should be a

reflection of their mothers, if the older teach the younger.

That's God's way!!

Happy Mother's Day to you!

Blessings,

Falla39

NO CHARGE
Melba Montgomery
Writer: HARLAN HOWARD

Recitation:

My little boy came into the kitchen this evenin'
While I was fixin' supper
And he handed me a piece of paper he'd been writin' on
And after wipin' my hands on my apron
I read it - and this is what it said:

For mowin' the yard - five dollars
And for makin' my own bed this week - one dollar
And for goin' to the store - fifty cents
An' playin' with little brother, while you went shoppin' - twenty-five
cents
Takin' out the trash - one dollar
Gettin' a good report card - five dollars
And for rakin' the yard - two dollars
Total owed - fourteen seventy-five.

Well, I looked at 'im standin' there expectantly
And a thousand mem'ries flashed through my mind
So I picked up the pen, turnin' the paper over,
This is what I wrote:

For nine months I carried you
Growin' inside me - NO CHARGE
For the nights I've sat up with you,
Doctored you, prayed for you - NO CHARGE
For the time and the tears.
And the cost through the years, there's NO CHARGE
When you add it all up.
The full cost of my love is NO CHARGE.

For the nights filled with dread
And the worries ahead - NO CHARGE
For advice and the knowledge
And the cost of your college - NO CHARGE
For the toys, food and clothes and for wipin' your nose
There's NO CHARGE, son
When you add it all up,
The full cost of my love, is - NO CHARGE.

Recitation:
Well, when he finished readin'
He had great big old tears in his eyes
And he looked up at me and he said,
"Mama, I sure do love you."
Then he took the pen,
And in great big letters
He wrote: "PAID IN FULL."

When you add it all up
The cost of real love is - NO CHARGE

I tried to use the code to imbed the video here, but it wouldn't work.

This is one of my favorite songs in honor of mom's.

HANDFUL OF WEEDS

Four years old, with dirt on my face
I'd been out in the yard
pickin dandelions all day
I burst through the front door
when I'd gathered enough
to give to my mom, to show her my love
when I held out my hands
she looked down at me,she said
I've never seen flowers
as beautiful as these

she's the one
who told me about Jesus
she's the one
who taught me to sing
she deserves, an armful of roses
she's satisfied with a handful of weeds

Now that I'm older and out on my own
I wish I could find more time
to make it back home
I couldve done better, I know in my heart
than to scribble a note
on a last minute card

And then she calls on the phone
and the first thing she says
is I've read this card over and over again

she's the one
who told me about Jesus
she's the one
who taught me to sing
she deserves, an armful of roses
she's satisfied with a handful of weeds

She's always known
what true love means
and I want her to know
what she means to me !

she's the one
who told me about Jesus
she's the one
who taught me to sing
she deserves, an armful of roses
she's satisfied with a handful of weeds

She's more than satisfied, with a handful of weeds.
