When Jesus came back before Pentecost, was he God?
I ask this, because if Jesus was God, then why did He need to leave so that the "comforter" could come? Like "hey bro., I need to leave so I can come back" kind of thing?
John 16:7
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Edit:
Okay, I think I am tired, someone asked me this, I posted it, and then I am thinking "wait, He said this before He died!" LOL

so that he can be in every one of us...also today two thousand years later , the Holy Spirit is the only actual proof of Jesus' resurrection to us...he was taken away after the persecutions was fulfilled so that that wicked might be revealed..then he returned upon us after the people begin to come out of her as in Revelation 18:4...

Re: When Jesus came back before Pentecost, was he
He had to make atonement by going away. Atonement was to save us from sins. There's so much involved in this concerning atonement that one has to study the issue of atonement out before one understands it.

He had to be glorified to come and live inside us...

Re: When Jesus came back before Pentecost, was he
Jesus has always been God regardless. There is only One God.
( 1Tim 3:16 [KJV])
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1 John 5:20
King James Version (KJV)
20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

And He had to be glorified to be KING on the throne of David, as a glorified MAN as Adam would have remained king with dominion had Adam not fallen. As God, He was eternally King. But as a resurrected and glorified man He BECAME KING. Go's plan was for MAN to have dominion on the earth. This is the foremost reason Jesus was glorified.
That is why John said the Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified. The Spirit is the river of life flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb. Peter said Jesus SHED FORTH THIS WHICH YOU NOW SEE AND HEAR because He sat at the throne. That is glorification. God hath made Him both Lord and Christ.

careful there, Austin, that's getting close to the idea that the river flowing from the House of God in Ezekiel 47 is the Holy Spirit flowing from Jesus.
