I watched the first Republican debate night. I can't help but like Ron Paul, even though I think I am more in line with Herman Cain.
Did you watch?

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves
Did you see Hannity after the debate? He had a focus group which thought Cain won the debate. I like Santorum on social issues. And Ron Paul on a philosophical change needed in govt before we can balance the budget. I don't think any of them have a chance though.
I watched what I could of it. Ron Paul was not done fairly, IMHO. In a question of Cain, the mods quoted Ron, and instead of giving him a chance to respond to his own quote, they moved on. The questioning was not even, and it made it look like they did not want to hear what Ron had to say in totality.
Cain did well. I would love to see a Paul/Cain ticket. If that would happen, Obama would be so scared he would never show up for a debate. Though, I would love to see an Obama-Paul debate. To watch Ron mop the floor and wring out the mess on Obama would be something I would buy a DVD recorder to record and watch over and over again.
Regardless, Ron Paul 2012!

There simply isn't enough gold in the world to fund an economy based solely "on the gold standard." China alone would devour all of the gold just so their people would have enough script backed by gold to buy their daily rice bowl. And, our economy is larger than China's... for now.
For global prosperity we need to be more flexibly... but then again, for global prosperity we also need to be a bit more frugal and quit printing money like it was toilet paper.
Does anyone think there was a GOP candidate present in that debate that has a real chance at beating the President?
I sincerely don't-- but I felt that way before the finding of bin laden.
Obama is defeating himself. We saw how strong Dem states elected republican governors. Obama is an economic fiasco.
We are glad to see him defeat himself.

The democrats won with the least qualified candidate in history because of a number of factors that have been discussed ad nausium.
Economy went south. People were fed up with war and the sitting president was unpopular.
given the strange economic world we live in now, it is entirely possible that Obama will face similar circumstances with popularity.
that leads to any republican being viable.
The flip side is, if the economy picks up and people feel more confidence, it wont matter what cult of personality the republican challenger has, they will lose.
The only way this cult of personality matters is, if the nation is devided with a heavy group of undecideds. in that case, I think Obama will likely win.
