Special Softball Mercies

I remember the Old Timers praying for traveling mercies, which meant they were praying for special protection on the highways.

Please pray for me.

Tonight I am playing my second game in a softball league. After the last game I felt old and worn out. Who would have thought softball would require being in shape? I have a few specific requests:

1. Pray I actually hit the ball out of the infield tonight.
2. Pray our team performs better than the first game (sheesh!).
3. Pray that I can make it to second base if I actually hit the ball in the gap.

Pray church, pray!

Now, that's not nice.

Are you gonna pray for me - or not?

Organized sports is clearly an Articles no-no ... I will not participate in this profane activity ... nor will I condone it in any fashion.

I am praying that you come to the full revelation of your age and its consequences and subsequently take up golf which is a game that can be effectively played well into your nineties.

Attention all Golfers and Softball players ... especially if you have signed the AS:

We wholeheartedly disapprove of our people indulging in any activities which are not conducive to good Christianity and godly living, such as theaters, dances, mixed bathing or swimming, women cutting their hair, make-up, any apparel that immodestly exposes the body, all worldly sports and amusements, and unwholesome radio programs and music. Furthermore, because of the display of all these evils on television, we disapprove of any of our people having television sets in their homes. We admonish all of our people to refrain from any of these practices in the interest of spiritual progress and the soon coming of the Lord for His church

Hmmm, all of these disclaimers and additions to my prayer request are making my head spin. BTW, who do you know that actually plays golf effectively? I mean besides rrford?

And I am ONLY 39. I am young and sexy and in my prime!

Well, some days I do and some days I don't but when I do my scores are usually in the mid to low 70s... I play to about a 5 or 6 on good days and a 10 or 12 on bad days.

As to your other comments... some are highly debatable... especially the one about Carp's favorite thread... being 48, 39 does sound young and in one's prime so I guess that is my only argument with your assertion!

So you are just as inconsistent at golf as you are in your posts?
