Death?

Death, do we understand it?

When the flesh goes the way of the grave, the fingernails and hair continue to grow. Even when the the life-blood is gone, cells continue to regenerate for a while.

What about death to sin? Do we really understand it? Some have no problem with new standards of living. Some claw and fight for personable liberties.

Is this a product of fading action from the carnal man? Or is it the symptom of the old man fighting for the old life. Is it eventually going to pass on when the new man is perfected, or is it a malady that will keep troubling them and others with bitter self-exalting.

What of the carnal man are they fighting for? The right to wear a suit like most of corporate America? The right to wear pants that define the shape of their legs when Biblical characters only wore robes? The right to shave their faces so they are as smooth as women's?

The right to get on the internet? The right to drive an automobile that the Amish realize has had a hugely detrimental impact on the family and moral purity?

Which of these things do they cling to as the old man gasps dying?

I was referancing being told no, having someone set laws i.e. police, parents, pastors,

Every church must have guidelines. Lawlessness will provoke anarchy. Being told they can't chew gum in church. Being asked not to talk and distract..

You're post is indicative of resentment for "Church" traditions. Paul had some and commanded the church to follow them. Submission and subjection is a link to the power of God. Stubborness and rebellion is an introduction to the dark side of spirituality.

This is not what Paul told the Galatians...

3: But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:
4: And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
5: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. Gal. 2:3-5

Did Paul subject Titus to the will of the false teachers of his day?

No not for an hour.

No not for an hour.
1 Peter 5:5
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Titus 3:1-2
3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

1 Cor 15:28
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Hope these links clear the process a lttle, Thanks
