2010 Mid-term Election Prayer Guide
PRAY FOR RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE IN PLACES OF AUTHORITY
Lord, help us to...select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens." (
Exodus 18:21)
Pray that our government leaders would choose to walk in wisdom, godly counsel and the fear of the Lord.
Pray for leaders that will uphold biblical standards of righteousness to be voted in.
Pray for righteous leaders to remain strong and courageous and true to their calling.
Pray for the removal of the godless and unjust from positions of authority and influence.
Pray for men and women who will serve the people and not themselves.
Pray that the winning candidates will fight to preserve the lives of the unborn and traditional marriage.
Pray for leaders that will hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in America (
Amos 5:15).
PRAY AGAINST CORRUPT LEADERSHIP
Lord, give us leaders and representatives for the people who will not turn aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice. (
1 Samuel 8:3 NIV)
Lord, we ask that You appoint us leaders throughout the nation and help them remember that they should not judge to please people but to please the LORD...and that You will not tolerate perverted justice, partiality, or the taking of bribes. (
2 Chronicles 19:5 NLT)
PRAY AGAINST VOTER FRAUD.
Pray that they which intend evil (in this election), which imagine a mischievous device to commit fraud, will not be able to perform it.
Lord, we pray that You will bring the counsel of the wicked to nought: and their devices to commit fraud of none effect.
We pray that that which is done in secret will be exposed to the public and prosecuted as a deterrent to others.
LEGISLATIVE ISSUES
Pray that the new Congress will be forced to implement an aggressive balanced budget amendment.
Recently Texas State Board of Education passed a resolution to stop the clear and blatant inaccuracies and pro-Islamic, anti-Christian bias contained in social studies textbooks. Pray that other states will pass similar resolutions to protect historical and cultural truth.
Pray that the UN Children's Right treaty which would put the parental rights under the jurisdiction of the international community is NOT ratified by the United States.
Pray that Proposition 19 which legalizes the use of marijuana will be rejected by the people of California. The people are made to believe this is a good idea because it will generate money to a financially desperate state.
Pray that California's Proposition 8 (defines marriage as between one man and one woman) will be upheld by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals as it comes for review in December.
Pray that Amendment 62, Colorado Fetal Personhood, would set precedent for defending life in the womb, such that similar amendments would be passed in other states.
PRAY FOR HOMELAND SECURITY
Pray that Al Qaeda threats in the US will not be successful and that anything that has slipped into our country will be uncovered before it can do harm.
