Hurt

I grew up with Johnny Cash as my mom was into country.
I always thought Johnny Cash had a unique voice, but this is probaly his best
ever.

This song was done right around the time of his wife's death.
He died I think a year after this.

Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Very touching. Perhaps the best legacy he can leave is this song.

Yes, it does. Though I am no great fan of Johnny Cash, his life is certainly notable in the things that he went through.
His song was (to me) more about desperation than hope. He seemed resigned to his fate and the fate of others. In reality, it came across as similar in tone to Ecclesiastes.

I agree. It is a man coming to grips with what is really important.
You are right about Ecclesiastes it comes to the same conclusion.

Sadly it took the Man in Black a lifetime to come to this.

In reality, many scholars believe that Eccl was written by Solomon in his latter years. In all of his wisdom, it seems to have taken him a lifetime to come to the same conclusions.

Bro, that was probably his masterpiece. I've loved that song and video since it came out. By far, it was his best work, in my opinion.

That song was originally done by a rock band. Don't know their name though.
