Is it a good thing to have our faith shaken once in a while?
I have been thinking about this over the past few days.
Is it good to have your faith challenged/shaken once in a while?
There are things we listen to, conversations, people, sermons, radio, there are things we read, and especially in the bible that give us pause to consider the things we believe and trust.
I actually think it is a good thing because at a minimum if you are challenged, bothered, and conflicted, hopefully the first place you will look for answers and reestablished moorings is the Word of God.

I had mine shaken a couple of months ago and it wasn't pleasant. I had a constant uneasy feeling in the pit of my being and had to pour out my heart nearly everyday to God. I fasted and studied the word. God had given me a preview of what was coming in a dream but I had no idea of how hard it would affect me.
The bottom line is after having gone through it I am more firmly grounded in my faith and beliefs and the ground I walk on with the Spirit is solid.

I think it can be a postive experience and it can be devastating depending on how you come out of the experience.
Yes, I think it will make you study it out, and that is good, I believe.
But the root of this IMO is having a love for the truth. IF not you will be deceived.
The truth sometimes is not what you want to hear. But it is truth nevertheless.

Carpenter, I don't know that I have had my faith shaken, but I know that I have been shaken......to the very core of my beginning. And for a very short while, I did question God. I was at a point where I couldn't even pray. Thank God I already knew what His Word said, so I never quit trusting Him.
I trust Him more today than I ever have before.

"Everything that can be shaken will be shaken..." There is a purpose for that.

You know what I went through a time in my life my faith was shaken. No matter what I did I could not breakthrough and speak in tongues. I would cry and fast and pray. Nothing worked. I was faithful and tried not do anything wrong. I was used of God to minister to people, but I could not minister to myself.
I heard a message on TBN, yes the tv, that changed my life. Rod Parsley preahed, "It is my time to get my thing from my God!" I watched that and God touched me and in the living room or a place I was living for college I broke and spoke in tongues again. It was an awesome feeling. One the thing he said was that getting our thing is very tough sometimes. We get in our own way sometimes. We need to get our hurts against ourselves out of the way and God will touch us again.
Good? Not really, but it is not over when you are tested because you can come forth as Gold.

I would have to say yes. But I guess I want to clarify that answer. In my case, it has been a tremendous blessing. Oh, it has been painful and frustrating and horribly hard to go through, but I am already starting to see some of the fruit.
In my case, it was during the shaking that I learned that I had placed my faith in things other than Jesus. In fact, when all those things had been stripped away I no longer could even remember why I had faith in the first place.
Now that is a scary place to be! But already (and I am still in the middle of it) I can tell you that it was totally the best thing that ever happened to me. In getting to know Jesus again, I am falling in love with Him all over again, and all I can think of is no wonder I have been so miserable the past 3 years! There just is no substitute!

Wrong context...but is it a good thing or a bad thing?
