Navy moves to put women on submarines

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...n8PZgD9BADAS00

Humpf.what are they thinking?

As a veteran of the Submarine Force all I can say is.... about time.

Which is what I told my wife this AM when she read the article to me in the local paper.

They'll need to limit their service to 9months so they can come back to have their babies.

I don't . This isn't from the country's civilian leadership, but from the military. Women have been serving on warships for almost 20 years, and have served in close combat support roles for the army and marines for awhile.

Back in the day when I was a young submariner I thought women on boats was an awesome idea..harem department, hey even the Roman legions had camp followers.

Times change, it isn't what it was 25 years ago when FTG2(SS) Atkinson has sailed beneath the rolling main. Today I would be lost trying to deal with the technology of a Virginia class boat. And there are some very competent and capable ladies in the Navy.. if they want to go there.. let them.

I say good...why should Navy guys be able to get away?

Psalms 139: 7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.
