Jesus Christ is called Lord... Is it because he is God? Is it because he is God-man? Is it because he is man?
I stumbled upon this verse today in Ephesians 1:3 and it said "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ..." Normally I think the thought is that the use of the term Lord refers to him being God. However, God has no God. So since the Lord Jesus Christ is referenced as having a God, we must conclude that this passage speaks not of him as God (I'm not saying that he isn't God, only that this passage is not referencing him as God)?
So, it seems the use of "Lord" does not imply that Christ was God because the Lord Jesus Christ has a God. Just curious on any implications this has on anyone's understanding of oneness. Personally, I think people to often get caught up in Christ's deity that they forget his humanity. Also, any thoughts regarding the original question of how the word Lord is used in describing him would be appreciated.
Lord is not necessarily saying Jesus is God, correct. Other aspects of Christ say He is God, though. As the Last man Adam, Christ is Lord, as Adam would have been Lord and merely human at that. But Christ fulfilled the role both of the federal head of the human race, as Adam did, as well as being our God, which Adam did not.

It really is very simple, the begotten Son of God, most assuredly has a God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. The man, is subject to His Father, what is difficult about that?? This same Man, is our Lord.

Exactly.

OK. So, your Lord is Jesus Christ. And your Lord has a God, to whom He is subject. And these two, um, entities (trying not to use the p-word in the plural!), Jesus Christ and Jesus the Father, are the same Person? Am I getting this right?

He is hard to define! The Father is not a person in the sense that we define persons, He is Spirit.
