Don't feel too bad, kid. Happens to the best. Joe Carter (Toronto Blue Jays, early nineties) once tossed the ball into the stands and started trotting to the dug-out, thinking he'd just made the third out of the half. Uh sorry, Joe, that's only two!

(Commentator called it a "brain fart", if I recall. )
