07ao-cr01908-01 - st v roy curtis huling
For the benefit of Mizpeh who claims I just pulled info out of thin air. . . .My former UPC pastor will go to jail for 8 years. He plead guilty friends. It's a sad day. I take no pride in this. My heart is sad. It's mind boggling and frightening and frustrating and enraging and all of that stuff.
If I look only at outward displays and even fruit, with the exception of this secret, this man was "as full of the spirit of God" as anyone I ever saw. He took outward stands on the side of right and preached it straight and never backed down. Yet, this is what was happening.
I love the Lord and I'm glad He set me free from the world that claimed it was freedom and I now know was bondage. I love my UPC Friends, I do, but I don't always get it and I'm glad God says I don't have to.

There are so many sad and pitiful people in this world. It's just so frightening to know that there is evil disguised among us.

Romans 3:4,
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

I don't know the specifics in this case.
But I know of a worship leader in TN who got 45 years for "molesting" a 17 year old. It was not rape...the girl was willing. Not saying his actions were right. He committed adutlry and hurt is wife and 2 boys. But 45 years? Murders sometimes are out in 8-10?
As I undestand this case is about to be overturned in appeal and he will be let go with time served. IMO sometimes our justice system just does not make sense.

Yes, that's a crazy ruling. However, this child was 10-12 years of age during the time this happened and he admitted to it, recanted, then changed his not guilty plea to guilty in June and agreedto this "lesser" 8 year sentence to avoid a trial.
Be assured, this is not a "justice system" issue. This is a sick and twisted situation that nearly destroyed a little girl who was left in the care of her beloved pastor while her mommy worked to raise her in the fear of the Lord.

I don't recall saying you pulled information (about your former pastor) out of the air. Can you quote me in context as saying that?

Thanks for providing the info, whocanitbe. I meant to check on that myself, and I've been so busy today that I forgot.
Sad for his family and the little girl; seems like a slap on the wrist for him. He'll probably get out WAY before 8 years are up.
