--Pentecostalism Defined--
What, in your mind, is Pentecostalism?
What are some key identifiers that someone is truly Pentecostal?

Re: --Pentecostalism Defined--
speaking in tongues
There are trinitarian Pentecostals, and various other segments.... the common ground is speaking in tongues.

Re: --Pentecostalism Defined--
Pentecostalism, to me, is having the same experience the early church did as recorded in the book of Acts when they were baptized with the Holy Spirit but especially like the day of Pentecost in the beginning.

Re: --Pentecostalism Defined--
I would define Pentecostalism as those who believe in the operation of the spiritual gifts and believe that these gifts are for those who have been baptized with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
Still, the definition is changing among the largest pentecostal groups. The initial evidence doctrine is losing steam and will probably be the minority view among pentecostals in the next few decades.
The young trinitarian pentecostals that I know seem to care less about the definitions of who has the Holy Ghost but are still very much attached to the "power" side of pentecostalism.
