No Access To White House Visitor Logs
Is it just me or does anyone else have a problem with Obama not allowing the names of official white house visitors to be viewed publicly?????? If I remember correctly the White House is "our house" and this veil of secrecy is quite troubling.............Of course when I see whose neck he hugs and who he bows down to I'm not surprised that he's trying to hide this information........I just cannot believe there is not public outrage over this. But when the mainstream media is in your hip pocket you don't have to worry about it.

Re: No Access To White House Visitor Logs
Have past administrations allowed public access to visitor logs?

I don't think so.
Wasn't there a recent stink about this though, late in the last Administration?

Bush has blocked some logs being read. The issue here is that, at the outset, as in all of Obama's promises - he has renigged on them and is governing like the Bush Administration. So much for criticizing Bush. He will also handle Iran - just like Bush.

Obama Closes Doors on Openness
As a senator, Barack Obama denounced the Bush administration for holding "secret energy meetings" with oil executives at the White House. But last week public-interest groups were dismayed when his own administration rejected a Freedom of Information Act request for Secret Service logs showing the identities of coal executives who had visited the White House to discuss Obama's "clean coal" policies.

President Bush fought for years to keep White House visitor logs private, arguing that they should fall under the presidential communications privilege. In January of this year a judge rejected that argument.

If Obama criticized the Bush administration for it's lack of transparency, and on this topic specifically, then that qualifies as hypocrisy.
Personally, I think the White House should be MORE private, not less. The transparency should be reserved for Congress, without the press taking notes.

Re: No Access To White House Visitor Logs
This appears to be a case of hypocrisy on the part of President Obama's administration.

Re: No Access To White House Visitor Logs
Did Monica log in publicly each time she visited President Clinton?
What information is included in the log?
Name? Date? time? purpose for visit?
Were the prostitutes logged in when they were procured for President Kennedy?
