Cool Pentecostal Worship isn't so Pentecostal Nowadays.

Pentecostal worship is not so Pentecostal nowadays.

Have you noticed that everybody and their brother worships in what used to be an exclusivly Pentecostal way?

Hands lifted, swaying, clapping, dancing.

Should we be bothered by this?

Should we be glad they're catching on?

I usually run the aisles with my pet cobra around my neck.

Re: Pentecostal Worship isn't so Pentecostal Nowad

Even boring old line churches are incorporating praise etc in their 'contemporary services"

My house shall be called a house of prayer. I don't see heavy duty prayer services and prayer roooms as a trend for seeker friendly operators. Remember that is what happened in topeka in 1900.

We use an expression
"Presence of the LORD" Another translation is face or seeing the Lords face or the manifestation of the face of the LORD. We don't see that very often elswhere.

Where are the prayer rooms? Are ours filled or theiors?

Our church still has prayer rooms.

Having them and getting people to show up early before service to make use of them is two different things...... but maybe I shouldn't go there.....

I find it disturbing that Pentecostals have an attitude of worry when other churches are successful or start doing things that are the same as us. Then we have to run out and find something new to distinguish us from the crowd.

Not at all. I don't see differentiation as salvation. I would be tickled to see them baptize in Jesus name and go for holineess.

If people in denominations are incorporating biblical practices in their praise services,I'm glad and perhaps it will cause them to search the scriptures and find more light.
