Re: Woman Charges The Pope

Do you think maybe she was just an adoring fan who was overcome and wanted to be near him? Like people do to rock stars?

Re: Woman Charges The Pope

Being in the presence of the Pope can be a "Beatles Concert circa mid 60's" experience for super devout Roman Catholics. Looked to me like a woman overcome with zeal wanting to perhaps touch the hem of his garment.

I was blessed by the Pope back in 1976 at his summer residence outside of Rome. I was in a fairly small courtyard that probably only held about 800 people and it was fascinating to watch the truly faithful RC's get so emotional when he appeared.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Well... whatever her reasoning... It certainly wasn't going to happen.

Oh I just abhor seeing all of that pagan robery, pomp & circumstance and it pains me that most of the world is blind to such a blatant display of everything that is against God.

The garb of the priests of dagon are worn so openly and blatantly and yet no one sees.

God open the eyes of the world to this pagan display and bare their nakedness that they deceive no more.

Do you think they know they're "against God"?

No sir... that is what I had said... they are blind to the fact that it is against God. Hence the prayer at the end that God would open their eyes so they would be able to see it.

Are you aren't blind? And you know this, how?

I am absolutely certain that I am blind to things in my life that God has not yet found it within me to receive.

I live with a constant awareness that all I believe is up to God's scrutiny and I am open to see things differently should God open my eyes to some error in my belief system and He has had the grace and favor to do that for me many times and I expect that He shall do it again.

I would hope that someone would pray the same prayer for me.

If you will read my post again you will see that I don't speak against people. I speak against the paganism itself and then speak of how painful it is that the world is so blind to these things... then I left a prayer that their eyes will be open.

You line of questioning seems to illustrate that you sense a spirit of condemnation in my post. If that is the case then I sincerely apologize. My post was not to condemn the people but to speak of how terrible it is that they are blind to these things and offer a prayer that God heal them of that blindness.

That prayer is one that I feel needs to be extended my direction as well.

Again... if my post was taken as condemning of others then I failed in my attempt to convey my true feelings and thoughts on the matter. And for that I certainly apologize.
